Five-time grammy winner and co-founder Marc Anthony officially announced that the orphanage “Niños de Cristo” will open its doors in La Romana, Dominican Republic April 2, 2014.

Anthony said: “The “Niños de Cristo Orphanage” will be home to more than 100 boys. The resilience of spirit and great need is what most inspired us to build our first orphanage and what leads us into Latin America to build many more”.

Proceeds from the inaugural event will provide essential support for Maestro Cares, a non-profit organization established to help orphaned children in Latin America by creating healthy and safe environments for them to live, learn and play.

The evening featured a cocktail reception, dinner, a special performance by Marc Anthony, and a live auction conducted by Pat Tully highlighted by the sale of artist Ray Smiths’ painting The Wave purchased by honoree Jorge Perez.
