If you know my story, you know it all begins in East Harlem. My father worked three incredibly hard jobs to provide for us, putting his own musical dreams on hold. But there was one thing that was never missing in our home: music. He taught me how to feel songs, how to truly live them… and without even realizing it, he was preparing me for this life.

One day, one of the musicians in my orchestra sent me a song my father had recorded years ago. The moment I heard it, I couldn’t hold back the tears. I called him right away and said, “We’re going to record this song together.”

And that’s exactly what we did.

The moment we stepped into the studio and I heard our voices blending together, it felt like pure magic. The phrasing, the emotion, the way he interpreted the music… in that moment, I understood where everything I am as an artist comes from.

We recorded this bolero so people could fall in love again. So they’d want to hold someone close and dance cheek to cheek. But to me, this song means something even deeper. It’s my way of saying “thank you” to the man who gave me my voice.

He sacrificed his dreams so I could live mine. And now, it’s finally his time to shine.
